On upstream, LiVES 1.6.3 has been released. This is the changelog:

Prevent truncation of longer filenames in plugin interfaces.

Add beat detector plugin.
Fixes for rare crashes/bugs in plugin interface windows.
Group effects by package in the effect mapper window and defaults menu.

lives 1.6.4~ds1-1 is available in Debian experimental. Not sure if it should be synced yet - should we wait until it's in unstable?
