By doing a apt-get update, followed by apt-get upgrade this happened.
# apt-get upgrade

Please note that when this error first occurred I was unable to report bug,
there for "1 not fully installed ro removed", however --pending --configure
reports the same - see below.

Machine is running Debian 3.1 (Testing) on a i586- Compaq Proliant -server
with a vanilla kernel and apt version 0.5.27.
