Wallpaper not showing til desktop is clicked. Indicator menus and right click menus also not being drawn til mouse-over.

this happened after the updates monday 12/08/27
never had problems before, i've been on quantal since alpha 1

The background does not come back permanently, the tooltips are black and
the dropdown menus are black until mouseover
Not sure this is a Xorg bug thow, because the user from the duplicate said that the "classic"
gnome is not affected, which also uses the Xserver.
from what i see we all have an intel GMA945. maybe a intel driver bug?
