Bug Description

When trying to open the update manager I received a message that this was a serious bug. A red circle with a white horizontal line also appeared. I am not very technically inclined but love ubuntu can you replay and s+tell me how to fix this. I am using the lasest verson of Ubuntu. Tnanks Daniel

This issue happens when you have tried to update your package information when you are a network that didn't return the right files. This issue can be cleaned up by using the following commands in a terminal:

1.) sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*
2.) sudo apt-get update

2.) sudo apt-get update The first command did not work but the second did.
After it finished running, the update manager program opened with out a
problem. Thanks
