Bug Description

From https://answers.launchpad.net/epoptes/+question/206413:

"I don't know if I should post this here or report a wishlist bug, so I will write it here > first.

Currently, epoptes server receives some notifications from clients (user logged on/off, computer turned on/off). I wonder if I could send some arbitrary notifications from clients to server (namely, I want to execute some command remotely and get notified from clients the returned output of the command).

Is it currently possible in epoptes?"

I converted the question into a bug report. :)

No, that's not currently possible without hacking the sources a bit, but it's a good idea (I think we have it on the roadmap) to develop a command-line tool to control the clients, and even gather feedback from them.

It might be implemented for the next Ubuntu LTS version (currently the communication channel is not reentrant so it's not very easy to get it implemented, it requires a few changes).

Has there been progress providing a command line interface for Epoptes?

Not yet. This feature is in our main TODO list, but requires changes in many parts of the code. We'll update this bug report when we have something.
