Bug Description

When i have chrome, terminal and other apps running and i press Alt + ~ i don't see the thumbnail display for any of the applications. On selecting a particular application too does not show the application. Maximizing the application gets me back to the normalcy. Please find the screenshot attached

Thank you for reporting this bug. First, could you run the command "apport-collect 1039347" without the quotes in a terminal so that this bug gets filled with necessary debug information? Also, can you confirm if this bug appears on a guest session too? Thanks!

Yeah sure i can run the command and upload the files. Some more information. I am running 12.04 and Unity version 5.14. This bug existed in the previous versions of Unity and this also happens in the guest session as well.

I tried running the command apport-collect 1039347 but i get no more information collected after it connected to the Launchpad. I am running a 64 bit version of Ubuntu

what more information is required for this bug. its not a crash and apport when run with the bug id does not collect any more information. I have updated the screenshot of the problem too. Let me know if anything more is needed. This bug is present even in 12.04.1

Yes i am using NVidia Display Card. I don't use the Nvidia proprietary drivers though, i use the nouveau drivers. I am using 12.04.1 (64 bit). I experience this problem only with Unity and not with any other DEs.

in ccsm go to workarounds plugin and enable 'force fullscreen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint' see if that helps.

If that doesn't work Then try switching between the drivers and see if that helps.

As you say these are workarounds, I would appreciate if the status of this bug is turned to "Confirmed" from Incomplete. And force full screen redraws as the tool tip says would take more CPU power which i dont want. This problem is also experienced in my laptop as well which runs 32 bit Ubuntu 12.04.1.
