Hello!
What version of Inkscape are you using? Did you do anything special before the error? For example, did you open a weird drawing?

1) Is this the first time you try to use Inkscape on this computer, or did Inkscape launch without issues before and suddenly fails?
2) Did you launch Inkscape by itself (by double-clicking the application icon), or by opening an existing Inkscape file?
3) Please attach the crash report [1] for 'inkscape-bin' to this report - the information provided so far does not allow to further investigate the issue.

---
[1] You can find the crash report in 'Home > Library > Logs > DiagnosticReports' for the binary 'inkscape-bin' - please make sure to attach the latest one relevant for the reported issue (each crash report has a date and time stamp as part of the file name).

I don't speak Spanish, and the translation offered by Google's translation service doesn't help me either - could you try to explain in English? Which version of X11/XQuartz do you have installed? To retrieve the details about the installed version, switch to X11 and open 'X11 > About X11' from the global menubar.

Note: The precompiled Mac OS X package of Inkscape 0.48.2 does require X11/XQuartz.

I didn't ask you to find the application 'inkscape-bin' - we need the crash report for Inkscape which is generated automatically by Mac OS X (whenever an application crashes).

How to retrieve the latest crash report for a specific application (in this case: Inkscape):
1) Open a new Finder window.
2) Browse to 'Home > Library > Logs > DiagnosticReports'
3) There you will see a list of several files, each of them containing technical details about an application crash. The file names of these crash reports are composed of the application name, the date & time of the crash and the name of the computer (aka hostname): for crashes of Inkscape, you need to look for the newest file (aka crash report) with a name similar to:
  inkscape-bin_2012-08-15-213210_(computer name).crash

Please attach that file (it's a plain text file) to this report, either via email, or using the web interface.

Sorry, but I don't really understand - based on your latest comment - on which system Inkscape does work for you and on which it crashes (Note: Inkscape is not tested on Hackintosh systems, and we can't provide support for such systems).
I also don't really understand your question about X11 - "in the desktop background have a open X11 windows..": the official Mac OS X package of Inkscape 0.48.2 does require X11 (or XQuartz) - whether or not X11/XQuartz opens an xterm window or not is not related to Inkscape, but to the version of X11/XQuartz and its configuration, and (usually on how X11/XQuartz is launched).

Could you _please_ attach the crash report from the machine where Inkscape (and not X11/XQuartz) crashes when launched? Else there is not sufficient information available (beyond mere guessing that this is a yet another duplicate of bug #623640) to further investigate your problem.

Neither of the two attachments provide relevant information about the crash of Inkscape. Please attach the crash report (which is auto-generated by Mac OS X each time an application crashes) - here again are the steps how to find the latest crash report for Inkscape:

How to retrieve the latest crash report for a specific application (in this case: Inkscape):
1) Open a new Finder window.
2) Select your home directory (aka your user name) in the side bar on the left of the Finder window (or use the menu item 'Home' in the Finder's menu 'Go').
2) Now browse to 'Library > Logs > DiagnosticReports'
3) There you will see a list of several files, each of them containing technical details about an application which had crashed.

This is the same underlying issue as tracked in
Bug #623640 “inkscape 0.48 crashes on startup in colorprofile_get_system_profile_handle()”
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/623640>

Inkscape fails to launch due to conflicts when parsing the information of the currently installed color profiles on affected systems. The exact reason is unknown yet because to was not possible to reproduce this consistently on other systems. Feedback from affected users varies slightly - some indicating that removing or fixing corrupted color profiles (e.g. with Apple's ColorSync application) helped, others thought that it occurred randomly, possibly triggered by other applications run previously (e.g. Safari).

Known workarounds in Inkscape: Change the color management preferences to retrieve the color profile for the monitor from the display. Since Inkscape 0.48.x initially does not launch, you could try one of these methods:

a) use a temporary installed Inkscape 0.47:
«A workaround to use 0.48 is to download an older version of Inkscape, go into preferences and check "Retrieve profile from display". Close Inskape. Now start 0.48 and it don't crash on startup.»
Inkscape 0.47 can be downloaded from here:
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.47/Inkscape-0.47-1.LEOPARD%2B.dmg/download>
Attached: a screenshot of the preferences pane with Spanish UI

b) open Inkscape using 'Open with…' command of existing SVG file:
«instead of regression to 0.47 just launch inkscape selecting an svg file and use the "open with" command, the program opens, and you change the "Preferences/Color management/Retrieve profile from display" as needed.»

c) edit the preferences file manually:
If none of the above two solutions works for you, you can always manually edit the preferences file yourself and change the corresponding setting for color management yourself: In the Finder, use menu 'Go > Go to Folder…' to go to '~/.config/inkscape'. There, open the file 'preferences.xml' with a plain-text editor, and change the value for 'from_display' in the group 'displayprofile' to '1'.

Please report back whether you got Inkscape 0.48.2 working on your iMac with the help of one of the described workarounds. This report will be linked as duplicate to bug #623640 after that, to keep further tracking and discussing of the issue focused in a single report.
