text doesn't scroll down automatically

Bug Description
Expected behaviour: when entering a command, text should flow down automatically to show you the consequence of your command.
Instead, you have to scroll down manually, and if you are using a touchpad, you even have to click on the text area to be able to scroll it down
I am using Linux Mint 13 64bit with Gnome shell 3.4.2
