jackd 0.121.3
mixxx 1.11.0 beta2-pre

When I start mixxx with jack running jack gets times out from xruns. I have tried many various jack setups and none seem to make any differance. if I start mixxx without jackd running mixxx starts fine but there are no JACK options in the configuration. only by crashing jack with mixxx do I get any JACK options, but by that time they are no longer usefull.

**** alsa_pcm: xrun of at least 0.021 msecs
jackd watchdog: timeout - killing jackd

14:53:48.738 JACK is being forced...

cannot continue execution of the processing graph (Bad file descriptor)

cannot read result for request type 7 from server (Broken pipe)

I get the same error from audacity wich is the only other program I have on this system that uses portaudio as a JACK implementation.

I have a similar problem, Mixxx crashes when I select Jack (click on "Apply" button) on Audio hardware window.

Thanks for the backtrace Francesco -- I have fixed the crash bug you hit in lp:mixxx/1.11 r3430.

I'm not sure if this is the same crash that James is seeing but it does seem similar. James -- please try build r3430 or newer to see if this fixes your issue.
