unified playback engine fails with short tracks

Bug Description
I created a playlist with six 5-second tracks in it, and after playing the first track I get errors and the program becomes unresponsive. I suspect this has something to do with the cross fading functionality... the errors are like this:
(exaile.py:14182): GStreamer-WARNING **: Element 'Stream0' is not in bin 'pipeline0'
(exaile.py:14182): GStreamer-WARNING **: Element 'Stream1' is not in bin 'pipeline0'
... and a lot of them, one set for each file.

I can confirm the warnings but not the freeze. I have enabled crossfading (500ms as per default) and kept a playlist of two tracks (3 and 4 seconds) repeating endlessly for about 5 minutes.
Not sure what we are going to do with the Unified engine in the future but maybe you can find more parameters to trigger this issue.
Postponed to a later version for now due to imminent RC.
