Crash when linking OpenOffice.org Base with Postgresql 8.2 database via JDBC

Bug Description

I guess I should list the packages I use before going on.
  openoffice.org 2.2
  postgresql 8.2
  libpg-java 8.2
  sun-java5-bin 1.5.0-11

I have no problem connecting the database via the JDBC driver, since I can see the listing of tables in openoffice.org-base.
However, when I try to open a table (or simply to see an overview), the software works for seconds, then crashes.

Of course, accessing to such a database via other programs like writer generate the same bug.

PS : I'm a newbie in bug reporting, so don't hesitate to tell me what's wrong in my report (not enough details ...)

I have exact the same problems.
I also tried java6 and didn't use the libpg-java package, but the drivers from the postgresql.org website. But nevertheless, the reaction is exactly the same.

When I apply the patch from that page, oobase fails to start. The splash screen is displayed, but then I get thrown back to the command line with no error messages.

It appears this bug will be fixed when openoffice 2.2.1 is released.

I tried the new version of OpenOffice (2.2.1) and base connects with Postgresql 8.2 via JDBC.

I also have this problem. I'm using the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver to connect to SQL 2000 and SQL 2005. I can create a query in the "SQL view" and run it to get data. However, double-clicking on a table to open it or clicking "Use Wizard to Create a Query..." crashes OpenOffice.

Is there a chance that the fix for this bug could be applied to Feisty?
