Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

I was installing feisty server. In the middle of the progress, it asked me "which of the following would you like to install" with DNS Server & LAMP unchecked. So to check DNS Server, I hit enter. Guess what: it continued the installation process because apparently, I had to hit "space" instead of "enter" to check the item. I think a "Continue" button would be much nicer to avoid confusion.

<Tab> for movement to the next field / selection, <Space> to make / unmake a selection, and <Enter> to send the instruction are pretty much standard, if I'm not misunderstanding you. You are, I think, seeing the way GUIs (text-based or the ones descended from Xerox' ones) normally behave. IBM designed it, as I recall.

We've tried this both ways round, and the other way seemed to be harder for more people, so to be honest I think we're better off this way; sorry.

Note that the installer does have help text to help with any confusion, which was added before Ubuntu 5.10:

<Tab> moves between items; <Space> selects; <Enter> activates buttons
