Bug Description

About a week ago, the gmail.com interface stopped working in midori: it loads, but when I click on an item in the list of messages, there is no reaction. Also, there is no reaction upon pressing PageDown (it used to scroll the list of messages before).

Some time ago, before the moment when it stopped working a week ago or so, GMail used to work fine in midori. I haven't updated midori or any related packages since then.

A workaround: use another browser, e.g., GMail didn't stop working in Firefox.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04
Package: midori 0.4.3-1ubuntu1
Uname: Linux 3.0.27-1-ac100 armv7l
ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu11
Architecture: armhf
Date: Sun Aug 12 15:35:02 2012
SourcePackage: midori
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)

Can you try this in a later version of midori? The commit at <http://git.xfce.org/apps/midori/commit/?id=5e2b7fdca7cf6ba94022347ee95028b763c8acf5> fixed a javascript-related bug and was released in version 0.4.5. It seems likely to fix this issue.

@gue5t: it seems that 0.4.5 has been built neither in Ubuntu nor Debian, has it? Right now, I can't build and test it myself.

You can install Midori 0.4.7 on Ubuntu via our PPA.

@Liviu

Thanks, having a PPA like this is of course very handy for testing!

Unfortunately, my Ubuntu system where this happened is on ARM, an architecture the packages in the PPA are not built for, as I can see from the expanded details at https://launchpad.net/~midori/+archive/ppa/+packages .

The computer is Toshiba AC100 (ARM).

I installed and tried running various known browsers (incl. midori) in my search for the most quick/responsive & lightweight (less memory consumed) browser, which would suit such a weak computer -- https://answers.launchpad.net/ac100/+question/207724 .
