computer shuts off when trying to install LM13 64 Cinn

Bug Description
1) LM 13, Cinnamon-64 bit,
2) 3) 4)Have Ubuntu 9.10 installed and running. Attempting to install above, using same disc which installed on this ThinkPad 510 (Cin-64 bit). After showing the screen to choose to install or run and selecting install, computer runs a bit with dark screen then turns its self off. I'd hoped to wipe the Ubuntu install and end up with LM.
5) Repeated above maybe five times and it always ends up turning off.
