Open Recent opens last file closed, regardless of name in list

Bug Description
Regardless of the name that is given in the list of file>Open Recent, the last item closed will open. The only way to access the items listed as "recent items" is to find them directly in nautilus or open them manually through file>open.
This happens in Ubuntu 12.04 with inkscape 0.48
