Bug Description

Canon Pixma MP150 worked with previous Ubuntu versions. Now it can print image files but a single page document from Libre Office was incomplete even though in preview it was ok. After that the printer freezes. Canceling the job won't help. It wont do a thing and MP150 is still showing marks as if it is working but that's all. It doesn't print.

Canon PIXMA MP150 & MP160 print a full sheet of text without issue using CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1
Has been tested printing with Libre Office, Adobe Acrobat and Google Docs (web)
However, if the sheet has a small amount of text (eg. 4 lines, name/address/city/code) the printer will hang after the last line or will not print the last line and hang on the second last line.

I am using Mint 13 with AMD64 processor, Nvidia graphics.
Canon PIXMA MP150 & MP160 worked perfectly last 4 years on Ubuntu before recent CUPS update.
CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7 Simplified driver works perfectly on Canon PIXMA MP150/160 (older computer with Mint 12)

Please help. I cannot find a work around and, after 6 years of loving Linux, I have to print using Windoze again. (It's awful)

Please advise how I can revert back to the older driver? Thanks in advance.

PS. to the above:
I HAVE tried turning off the printer, deleting the CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1 driver and rebooting the computer. Then turn the printer on and re-install the CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1 driver. No change. Think there is a print buffer-control bug in this driver.
