Subject: install-info: unable to determine description for 'dir' entry
Package: sed
Version: 4.1.2-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
My daily apt-get upgrade routine today told me this:
----------
Preconfiguring packages ...
Setting up sed (4.1.2-2) ...
No `START- INFO-DIR- ENTRY' and no `This file documents'. info(/usr/ share/info/ sed.info) : unable to determine description for `dir' entry - giving up
install-
dpkg: error processing sed (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
sed
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
----------
While I can only guess what's going wrong (the error isn't unclear about
it, really), I'm pretty sure the package maintainer already *knows* what
the problem is. This bug report therefore, well, just in case...
Cheers,
Tom
