Bug Description

Binary package hint: kwalletmanager

Every time i boot up my computer i manually connect to my WLAN.

I right-click on KNetworkManager, choose my network and type my WEP-key. When the connection is established a window pops up (freely translated from swedish to english):

"knetworkmanager wants kwallet to be opened. enter the wallet's password below:"

i type my password (the one my kubuntu-user has, not a specific kdewallet-password) and get a new window:

"Error when wallet 'kdewallet' should be opened. Try again. (Error code -9: Read error: Wrong password?)"

I cant find kdewallet in my k-menu, so i try to run it from a shell:

johannes@mobilejs:~$ kwallet
bash: kwallet: kommando hittades inte
johannes@mobilejs:~$ kdewallet
bash: kdewallet: kommando hittades inte
johannes@mobilejs:~$ kwalletmanager

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169

No luck so far. Is it possible to get rid of kwalletmanager?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. kdewalletmanager should show up in your system tray after you
launch it. Do you not see it there? Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian,

The pleasure was all mine :-)

I think you can consider this "bug" as a "no bug". I deleted the default wallet "kdewallet" and the next time i connected to my wlan it re-created a wallet with that name and then i could set a password for it. So i guess the problem was I never knew the default password, but deleting the wallet solved my problem.

Im sorry for taking your time. Next time I'll laborate more before i file a bug.

Cheers,
Johannes
