Bug Description

COMPAQ ARAMDA 500 LAPTOP
256 RAM
PIII 800

Standard Ubuntu "warty warthog' install

Kenel Panic
Kernel panics with the following message:
Code: bad EIP value
<0> Kernel Panic: Fatal exception in interrupt
In interrupt handler not syncing

I get a Call Trace as it fails although I dont know how to access the entire
text from the dead laptop. The call trace starts with the psmouse_interrupt.

This machine actually booted a few times, even with the syncing error, but for
some reason it now refuses to boot at all. I have rebuilt the machine and the
result is the same, boots once or twice then dies completely

hope this is of some help.

Steve

Sounds like a hardware problem. Try running a memory test (one is available
from the GRUB menu, press escape at the countdown prompt)
