Bug Description
Fresh install of Ubuntu desktop 12.04. All updates applied as of 8/1/2012. Then when trying to install snort via 'sudo apt-get install snort' I get the following.

This is a fresh install, just installed. In fact, we got this error and assumed the installation was f'd. So we redownloaded and burned a cd again, reinstalled with a full wipe of the partitions and still got the same error.

Here's some more info. We wiped and reloaded with Ubuntu Server 12.04. Still get same install error. So we tried doing sudo apt-get -b source snort. Of course it needed about a dozen packages first, but after that (and 45 minutes later) it seemed to install properly. So something appears to be wrong with the prebuilt pacakage. Maybe? I'm not sure.
