Can't multi-select using Shift+Ctrl after already using Shift

Refer to the screen-recording for an items selection you can't make right now using 'ctrl' and 'shift' keys in Files. I will try to explain the attachment in brief.
If you want to make a selection as shown, what you can do in almost all file-browsers that I have seen (including nautilus, windows explorer and finder) is use shift key to make the first multiple item selection which are next to each other and then you can do another multiple file selection using shift key if you hold down the ctrl key during the process.
This doesn't work in "Files". It would be hard to think that this is intended behavior.
