html editor for About, Home, Privacy... etc pages does not keep images. They show in the wysiwyg interface (TinyMCE, I guess) but they do not show in the pages themselves

Bug Description

I added some images to the About and Home pages in my Mahara site. The images show fine in the editor but when I see the site itself those images are not shown.

Hi Alonso,

Can you please note down which URLs you used for the images you included in the pages? Were these files from "Site files", your personal files area or elsewhere?

Cheers
Kristina

I also encounter similiar problem:
1. Add images to any of the site pages: About/Home(Dashboard)/Logged-out Home, etc., the images are shown in the editor only but not in the site.
2. I also try to add image to the page description of any page create in the Portfolio->Pages but the image will disappear after saving. However, I can add the image in the demo site.

For testing purpose, I use an image from mahara.org:
https://mahara.org/theme/mahara-org/static/images/softwarebox.png

version: Mahara 1.7.1
server OS: ubuntu 10.04
php: 5.3.2.1.4.19
database: mysql 5.1.69.0.0.10.04.1

Find out the reason:
- checked in the Site Option->Security settings->Disable external resources in user HTML

(Uncheck the option, problem gone)
