Bug Description

From a UX-perspective the slide animation is very confusing. The user will expect that the slide transition means that they can swipe that view if they are using a touch interface to get to the next or previous view. A fade transition would be much more appropriate for signaling what's happening.

If you are considering making the views slide-able then you should probably do it the way Android does it in their "all apps"-view. In ICS they both fade and make a short slide to indicate what direction the view moved. This gives a much cleaner impression since you won't have to see things swooshing across the entire screen and is much easier on the eyes.

If you can slide to the sides it will be even more confusing since it's a tile-based interface (like in android's application launcher) and it's expected to always have their tiles located in the same place. But this means that the rightmost view will always be different depending on what plug you opened last and the leftmost will always be "home". It's a very odd behaviour. Please reconsider the implementation of this.

Meh, I'm gonna have to say "Opinion".

I personally think the slide animation makes plenty sense in the context of "forward" and "back" and the hint at a gesture is intentional.
