Bug Description

Binary package hint: desktop-effects

Continued from the original bug 89786:

After enabling the cube, and closing and reopening Desktop Effects, the cube is disabled, and the number of workspaces is set to one, even though the box is still checked.

Workaround: Uncheck the cube box, right click on the workspaces panel applet, increase the number of workspaces to four, then re-enable the cube.

Had the same problem with the cube, but the workaround didn't 'work'.

No crash found, nothing hung, just stopped working after I changed the desktop background and started the Beryl Manager.

Correct that last post...

Found that the Horizontal Virtual Size in "General Options" had minimized itself to 1 (no cube). Changed to 4 and the cube returned.

Still not sure why that changed, I didn't change any "General Options" on this install.

I added one if-statement to patch #5 of the source package and this fixed the bug for me.

IMHO this bug is a problem for unexperienced users so this should get fixed in feisty final!

Am i stupid or does it change nothing if i mark a attachment as patch?
Whoever is responsible of this thread should delete the second file (and this posting)
I'm sorry again (but there should be a feature to edit a post) ;)

Martin: It changes a filed in the database, so when you go to the advanced search, you can selected "Only display bugs with a patch attached".

For what it is worth, I still see this behaviour after upgrading to the final feisty.

Same bug here. (feisty final upgrade from edgy)
The mentioned workaround helps. (disable cube checkbox, increase workspaces, enable cube checkbox)
