The dpkg log that was attached to this bug shows no evidence of a problem with the libpam-modules package. Please attach the /var/log/apt/term.log from your system.

Thanks for sending the log. Unfortunately, it still only shows this:

Preparing to replace libpam-modules 1.1.3-2ubuntu2.1 (using .../libpam-modules_1.1.3-7ubuntu2_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libpam-modules ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up libpam-modules (1.1.3-7ubuntu2) ...

So the libpam-modules package is being set up normally.

At this point, I have no guesses as to why apport reported this issue. I'll leave this bug open in case more information becomes available; but it looks like your system is correctly configured now, so there probably won't be any more information.
