Bug Description
I'm sitting behind an ISS6 proxy in a corporate network. I have configured Firefox to use the proxy server. When I surf external sites outside our network, Firefox stalls and downloads the pages very slowly. It seems to affect all Gecko based browsers including Galeon. There is no error reported in the logs. Starting Firefox from a terminal window does not produce any errors. Running Firefox in debug mode, does not produce any errors. Disabling all plugins does not work either.
Running Opera works fine and strangely also running the binary IceWeasel 1.5 from "www.gnu.
Firefox 1.5 - Not working
Firefox 2.0.x - Not working
SeaMonkey 1.1.1 - Not Working
IceWeasel 1.5 (deb package) - Not working
IceWeasel 2.0.x (deb package) - Not Working
IceApe 1.x.x (deb package) - Not Working
Galeon 2.0.2 - Not working
Ice Weasel 1.5 (Binary package) - Working
Opera 9.10 - Working
I thought there might be some connection to a problem I have with Rhythmbox when using the proxy. When Rhythmbox connects to the internet and tries to download cover-art, it crashes. When a proxy is not configured it runs fine.
I run a Dell Latitude D820, Core Duo T7600 (2,33 GHz, 4MB L2-cache, 667 MHz FSB), with a 256 MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 110 M med TurboCache graphic card.
Hope this information is enough.

I forgot to mention that all versions of Firefox and derivatives runs flawlessly under Ubuntu Edgy Eft 6.10.
