Bug Description

I'm running Mint 13 64-bit / MATE

In:
Power Management Preferences -> General -> Actions -> 'When the Power Button Is Pressed'

It doesn't matter what is chosen as the action, the computer still shuts down, instead of suspending, hibernating or displaying the quit menu.

I tracked this down to the file:
/etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh

Line 35 has a reference to 'gnome-settings-daemon'. If I change this to 'mate-settings-daemon' the problem disappears.

I have the same problem with Mint 14 64-bit / KDE. It cost me 8+ hours of work (work on virtual machines that cannot be saved mid-point and has to be restarted), and now the installer I have to repeat for a virtual machine isn't working. My temporary fix was to remove the power button from the computer. Shutting down someone's computer without proper reason is a most severe bug that should be fixed immediately.
