Bug Description

Running the 'Check disk for defects' fails with 'The ./install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default file failed the MD5 checksum verification. Your CD-ROM or this file may have been corrupted.' error message.

Constantly reproducible, on quantal-server-i386 downloaded from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/daily/20120724.5/quantal-server-i386.iso which is seemingly identical to
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/daily/20120725.4/quantal-server-i386.iso

The installation media was created on a USB using Startup Disk Creator.

Is this still an issue with a later daily build of quantal? If so can you manually check the md5sum of the file on the USB disk and add it to the bug report? Thanks in advance.

This is still occurring in the latest image, with buildid as given in
Ubuntu-Server 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha i386 (20120813)

Upon trying to verify the md5sum of ./install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default, it was found that the file is not present at all in the image. Hope this narrows down the issue.

Thanks
