Jeff Marcom, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Did the display port work in a prior version of Ubuntu?

@Christopher - we haven't tested this system before. @Jeff can you try testing this with Oneiric?

Jeff Marcom (jeffmarcom) wrote :

This actually now looks like an nvidia driver issue. I installed oneiric, and plugged in a secondary monitor to the display port. I was amazed that it was actually working successfully. I then installed the proprietary nvidia graphics driver through jockey, rebooted and tried again. The secondary display was no longer working. I need to verify this to be the case with precise, as I ran through my whole test pool with the nvidia driver enabled because of an issue with suspend.

@Jeff - So it's the case here that if nvidia-current is used then the display port doesn't work, and if nouveau is used then the suspend won't resume from suspend?

The new current-nvidia driver 304.43 is on it's way into the Precise, finally.

 see bug1037483

hopefuly this will resolve any issues like this one.

That version is no more supported; please open a new bug report if the actual archive found version also has the same issue.
