Quantal Firefox Compose cannot enter anything into text box

Precise, AOL mail compose write a message works O.K.
Quantal, can enter address and subject can't enter anything into text box.
Same problem on Acer notebook, Acer netbook, Compaq tower.

To send an email from AOL mail either boot up Precise or start Opera on Quantal or use Yahoo.

Any ideas for workarounds?
