returning from suspend with desktop effects enabled, screen does not repaint.
the log in prompt is there, mouse behaves as such, and appears that everything is working, but no display
cntr-alt-bksp can be used to restore display, but obviously ends desktop session.

this is reproducible. using feisty, up to date, with Nvidia 6600go on PM based Asus notebook and binary drivers.

Thank you for your bug report.

Could you add the output produced by the following commands to this bug:
dpkg -l nvidia-\* | grep ii
lspci | grep -i nv

Could you also indicate whether suspend/resume works correctly when you are not using desktop effects?

You didn't mention whether disabling the desktop effects allowed suspend/resume to work correctly. If it does this sounds an awful lot like Bug #96240 ...

Setting to needsinfo pending reply from hardyn.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to reject this bug and mark this as a duplicate of Bug #96240 . If it turns out to be different it can always be unduplicated and reopened.
