IRC LOG:
(08:04:41) Michael Nagel: nailor@needle:~$ simple-scan test
(08:04:42) Michael Nagel: zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) simple-scan test
(08:04:49) robert_ancell: ech!
(08:04:49) Michael Nagel: after i clicked scan...
(08:05:07) robert_ancell: oh, that might be the menu bug - there is a bug in the Ubuntu menu code
(08:05:15) robert_ancell: wait a few seconds before starting the scan
(08:05:36) Michael Nagel: is that just for the test driver or a general thing
(08:05:46) robert_ancell: general
(08:05:55) Michael Nagel: is there a ticket about this one?
(08:06:08) robert_ancell: I don't think so
(08:06:17) Michael Nagel: does not happen when waiting for a few seconds
(08:06:20) robert_ancell: well, I haven't looked but the menu code is notoriously unstable
(08:06:34) Michael Nagel: so it is related to the use of unity? global-menu?
(08:06:36) robert_ancell: the backtrace I've seen from simple-scan shows it's happening inside the GTK menu plugin
(08:07:58) robert_ancell: yes
