I found it. It's a legacy from decisions in 2009, when we wanted to make stuff pluggable. In fact, it has a "smells like code Paul wrote" feeling to it.

Look in karl/content/views/adapters.py for various lines such as:

  more.set('class', ''more')

Not quite done on the tagbox. Here's a screencast with some points:

Namely:

- Put it all on one line

- Make sure the height of the boxes for the tags is the same as the height for the box for input

- The input box is WAY to wide, cut in half

- Do we need some padding on left and right margins for the content area? Looks pretty wide when there is no sidebar.

tagbox fixed. I'm not sure about the content width, because it uses the full width page without any portlet it makes sense to have it like that.

- Handle zooming
- Reposition input box, make height, larger font
- Make input box narrower by 20%
- Ensure you can type more than 2 characters
- Responsive design search box (at smaller dimensions) is broken)

In addition to the tag work on #7:

- Chatter Drop Down menu: The content area still has the old beige color. Also, the font on the links to New Post, View All Posts, etc. don’t’ look that crisp to me.

- The LiveSearch drop down menu items looks muddy – probably the same size font as the Chatter links, so hopefully that can be part of the same fix

- The Feeds tab

All is closed with this and tested on karldev. We don't yet know if it is going into production, so that means it is Fixed Released, the end of the line.
