but I unable to run it since ubuntu does not have hda_codec python module installed.

but without this script I can tell you jack sens are ok. When i plug headphones to the jack VolumeControl how me up "Headphones" output instead of "Speakers".

this is the same machine also-info, but with Headphones connected to the rear lineout

this machine has on the front panel one jack TRRS connector. on the back: line in, line out, two hd radeon video cards with 2 each mini display ports (which produces 4 sound devices if connected to the apple monitors) + internal speakers which can sound when no headphones are connected.

do you mean headphone still not working ?

did you plugged in headset or just headphone ?

do you need to use the jack state of node 0x19 reflect the jack state of mic 0x18 ?

the main point is if line out does not support jack detection , it cannot auto mute the internal speaker

although you can use hints to disable the channel mode (surround 51)

multi_io = false

the driver seem unable to create "Front Playback Volume" for the Line Out jack

the driver enable auto_mic by default even when you have two detectable input jacks

can disable auto_mic by hint to get the alt analog capture device and input source selection

No, my headphones are not working.

Jack well detected, but I abble to head sounds only using back panel Line Out. As you can see which is not detected by hda-jack-sense-test.

I'm using headphones right now, not a headset (can't test one right now, maybe in few days I will get back one).

Not sure what do you mean by reflecting state back. I think Node 19 is the one I need to produce sound in my headphones. No mic issue yet been stated :)

I also want to mention, when I plug my headphones into the jack, I hear no sound at all. Not just headphones are not wokring. But all sound muted (even if it is not muted by system settings)

I've tested multistream on linux by watching youtube (on lineout) and calling Skype using alsa channel (some mini diplay usb magic). Which have been played separately (separated stream on headpohnes using lineout and monitor spears). Not really sure how to test it under OS X.

you need to remove the misc bit Check (remove two lines from hda-jack-sense.py)

and re run the test when you plugged the line out at rear

This mean you need to use hda-jack_retask to clear misc bit of node 0x14 ( MISC = NO_PRESENCE) if it support jack detect , did line out jack has any color instead of unknown

MacPro has no jack colors at all, they are gray with little icons.

Changes done with hda-jack_retask aren't be persistent? And they are not shared across all ubuntu installations. I'm assuming it shall be done in the configs and shared within ubuntu alsa deb packages?

Node 0x19 - is a front panel jack, when I connect headphones to it no matter what mixer I'm using from a "Connection List". I hear no sound at all. So, I do not understand the logic behind connecting headphones to the line out at the rear (node 0x14) and playing with hda-analyser to change output mixer.

Am I missing something?
