Thank you for your bug report, is that specific to gedit? Did you restart your session since the recent updates?

not specific to gedit, its deeper into the system : Looks like similar to bug #1026066

a workaround is waiting as "fix commited" about aptdaemon (bug ref above)

well, aptdaemon is a different issue than the one described in the title, did you restart your session since the update?

It seems d-conf needs to be restarted after upgrade, we should probably display a reboot required notification if we can't simply restart the service

affects: gedit (Ubuntu) → d-conf (Ubuntu)
Changed in d-conf (Ubuntu):

I encountered this bug too (impossibility to change values of dconf using both dconf and gsettings). It emerged after an update of:
gnome-desktop3-data (3.5.4-0ubuntu2) to 3.5.90-0ubuntu1,
gsettings-desktop-schemas (3.5.2-0ubuntu1) to 3.5.90-0ubuntu2,
libglib2.0-0 (2.33.6-1) to 2.33.10-0ubuntu3,
libgnome-desktop-3-4 (3.5.4-0ubuntu2) to 3.5.90-0ubuntu1,
and installation of dconf-tools (0.13.90-0ubuntu1)
(and changes to several other packages not related to dconf nor dbus).

After a system reboot, everything works all right.
