Bug Description
I have a home directly with a lot of files (about 100GB...maybe 500,000 files) -- mostly for software development purposes.
Everytime I do a fresh install of 12.04 (x64) I have a problem with Rhythmbox whereby when I first run it, it hangs for about 5 seconds every 3 seconds. Then after about 1 minute it totally freezes. Rhythmbox reports about 3000 import errors regarding misc files in my home directory (that aren't even song files). I am unable to import any songs from my library (about 5,000 songs).
My workaround is to use dconf-editor to remove my home directory from rythmdb/locations (leaving ubuntuOne alone). I also have to delete the ~/.local/
After that it starts normally and I can import my library and it works great from then on. I feel that this is a pretty serious issue that Ubuntu's default music player hangs and freezes on a brand new installation.
I have a similar problem with a similar sized home folder in Ubuntu 13.10 x64.
I can't find any reference to rhythmbox if I launch dconf-editor or I would try the workaround. rhythmbox is unusable on my system. I've tried re-installing it to no avail.
