Bug Description
Hi all!
I've just upgraded from edgy to feisty beta.
Now I've got troubles with the master volume of alsamixer. It cannot be changed at all, i.e. it will stay at 0. The only settings that can be modified are PCM and MIC. The setting of the PCM channel now determines the overall volume rate. It is possible to hear sounds from the speakers, but at a very low volume even with the PCM level set to maximum.
If I try to restart the sound server (i.e. /etc/init.
* Shutting down ALSA...
amixer: Invalid command!
amixer: Invalid command!
* Setting up ALSA... [ OK ]
sudo amixer -c 0 Master 100 produces the same error message:
amixer: Invalid command!
sudo amixer -c 0 PCM 100 works, though!
A lspci -v shows that I got the following soundcard:
Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device ff10
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 22
Memory at dc240000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
A restart of the system didn't change anything.
Best regards and keep up the good work!

I've just realized, that somebody already posted the same bug (#92171).
The status of this post, however, says that it's fixed.
Currently, I have the following kernel running:
