[Precise] Unity-greeter using 45% of memory upon boot and it may go up to a 100% on certain conditions

I notice this behaviour when a precise install has more than 25K users in /etc/passwd. Also all users are listed in the login screen turning impossible to login as the desired user.

This is probably an issue if it's using ldap although I cannot confirm it.

This kind of setup (25K users in passwd) is sometimes used in universities and other institutions. It's not something I'd recommend but it works on previous versions that not make use of the lightdm display manager.

Workaround: disable user listing in lightdm. I'd prefer have this feature disabled by default so it does not cause issues for enterprise users.
