Pycountry 1.8+ds1-0.1 is available in Ubuntu 15.04 and later, so I believe this issue can be marked as Fix Released. For those who have noticed there's an even newer release which haven't been packaged yet, please see bug 1500009.

Thanks. Hopefully 15.10 can ship 1.15 as is tracked in the mentioned bug.

I don't know. Seems rather late in the release cycle, and the newer version doesn't seem to have been packaged in Debian either. Though, I've forwarded the issue there, and attached a bug watch to the other bug.
