Does it freeze also with 9.0.48 ? (try to download it from adobe site if it is not available/packaged in Feisty, or update to Gutsy)

This happens for me in foirefox with Gutsy. The problem strted with the last flash-nonfree update just before the release of Gutsy.

Bump. I confirm this bug. I've upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 and now firefox 2.0.08 and mozilla freezes randomly when viewing flash movies (mainly in youtube). I've installed ddd and ran firefox -safe-mode -d... I noticed that hitting break and lookup twice in a row causes firefox to unfreeze! Also, adding this XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 to /usr/bin/firefox no longer fix the problem. This seems to be a critical bug. Can someone please point me in the right directions? Thanks in advance.

I've noticed the same problem under a stock Gutsy machine. Just go to a Youtube video and reload the page 10 or so times, and it's bound to freeze one of those times.

I just upgraded to flash9 rev115 with firefox 2.0.11 and I am still getting the same problem.

It happens every time I watch a second clip from youtube. (I have noscript and abp extensions which block flash from most other sites).

This problem is not specific to the version of Flash, nor the version of Firefox.

I have two Gutsy installs (one on a desktop, one on a laptop): both have the same version of Firefox and the same Flash plugin. The desktop does *not* have the problem described in this bug. The laptop *does*: the problem (I think) started at the Feisty-Gutsy upgrade.

Both systems were originally Dapper, upgraded in turn through Edgy and Feisty, to Gutsy currently.

If anyone can think of what else, other than (a) Firefox version and (b) Flash version are appropriate to check, please let me know!

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

I think the symptoms went away upon upgrading to Hardy, actually. At least, in my case it did. This may mean that the issue was related to a Firefox upgrade...
