Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

On Feisty beta. When trying to use "Guided - resize..." with a size of just 5 GB (which should be enough for Feisty btw.), I got a "Too small size" error popup, that repeats endlessly when clicking on OK. I think I will have to kill the process.

This is very likely to be another consequence of bug 95400. Could you try 'sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install ubiquity' before starting the installer and see if that clears it up?

Cannot test this with an up-to-date Feisty, since ubiquity 1.4.7 now forces a minimal partition size of about 15 GB.

I find this out today trying to install GG Tribe 1 on a 14.7 GB partition :(
When I edit partition giving the root "/" path, a error message "Too small size" appears.
I think this is not enough explicative. It should say something like: "The partition you have choose for installation is too small. Required size is 15 GB while your is XX GB"
And maybe some button "Details" with instructions on how to resize partition without living the LiveCD Session.

Thank you for your report. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release?

Thanks.

do not experience this bug with GG final on a couple of machines.

Anyway, hardy installer blocks at 39% while copying files, but should be another problem...

I get the same error only with a 32 gig partition. I also have a few other problems however so this may be for another bug posting.

I am certain this is fixed in Ubuntu 8.04. However, should this still be a problem, please reopen the bug report and provide /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug from an install attempt in debug mode (`ubiquity -d` in a terminal window).

Thanks!
