Negative "New Partition Size"

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I have a 80 GB harddisk with Edgy installed (Guided - use entire disk). Now, I want to install Feisty beta in a second partition with "Guided - resize...".

I can move the "New Partition Size" slider to "-2% (-15220000 B).

I'm trying to gather some data, as I will alter my partition table now.

Sadly fdisk -l does not output anything. fdisk -l /dev/sda sais "Cannot open /dev/sda". Seems fdisk does not work as expected in the live environment.

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 95400. Run 'sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install ubiquity' before starting the installer to pick up the fix.

I'm not really sure this is fixed. I did as you said, and now partition size is cannot be negative.

However, the smallest possible setting is 20% (~15 GB). Is this really intended? Ubuntu works with only 3 GB!
