Bug Description

"sudo ./dbbuild -d /var/cache/lsc-vala.db" doesn't handle errors properly and builds an empty database when errors occur.

Example:
$ sudo ./dbbuild -d /var/cache/lsc-vala.db
Collecting app-install data...
Querying PackageKit...

(dbbuild:10039): Error: %s
-WARNING **: dbbuild.vala:213: Package name qtodo could not be resolved.
Done, no error reported

After that Light Software Center indicates that there are 0 apps in every category, see attached screenshot.

try to install packagekit and app-install-data and retry to build the database. I also had this problem and it was fixed retrying and retrying. It is not as good but it will be better in future

It should work if you have installed packagekit and packagekit-backend-aptcc
