Bug Description

In Ubuntu 12.04 the Firefox windows can't be minimized
I thought is is bug in the Unity, but it seems only Firefox shows such behaviour.
I try to minimize it, it would be minimized, then clicking on other program to maximize --> Firefox window would pop up over all windows.

This affects me very negatively. I often need Firefox open along with other windows, and I will not be upgrading to 12.10 any time soon.

Hi, I had the same problem and I solved finding the problematic extension/plugin.

First I used this:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/924733

In my case, the extension that was the "Global Menu Bar integration 3.5.4", which integrates the FF menu to the Unity panel. When I disabled it and restarted the FF, the "always on top" problem was solved.

Probably some integration to Unity no longer works, but for now it's ok for me.

It appears that if I have BOTH the Delicious.com extension installed, and the Global Menu Bar extension, this bug would occur. However, when I switched "back to classic" in the Delicious extension, the problem was solved. Does anyone else with this bug also have the Delicious.com extension installed?

Yes, I can confirm that I have this problem also. When I turn off the Delicious extension the problem is gone. Notice that using the classic mode did not solve my problem.

The problem should be reported to the developers of the Delicious extension instead
