gxine crashed trying to play dvd

here is the crash report.../var/crash/_usr_bin_gxine.1000.crash

just loaded ubuntu 6.10 and all the upgrades
tried to play dvd using totem...no way...
this site recomends gxine...https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats
dvd still wont play...
so tried installing more files as su:
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-pitfdll gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse gxine libxine-main1 libxine-extracodecs ogle ogle-gui

hung up on the first package, so deledted gstreamer0.10-pitfdll and everything installed
tried dvd and gxine crashed....

I have just marked this bug report as a duplicate... could not see where
I would close it :(
will be installing ubuntu 7.04 soon and will give gxine another go...
