usplash crashed unexpectedly

Binary package hint: usplash

Hi there,
             There was a fluctuation after which ubuntu re-started, tht is normal but then usplash crashed. I sent the crash report through apport but it seems apport is still not on good terms with Firefox but tht is another matter. Hence re-sending the crash report. Thanx for your time.

Anyway here is the crash report at http://www17.rapidupload.com/d.php?file=dl&filepath=16868 . I made 2 changes, one i touched it couple of times thinking tht apport will send the bug-report + open firefox which did not happen, the second is I did a chmod 777 as otherwise it was not uploading the contents to any upload site.

I have never been able to use usplash from the moment I have installed beta. At first I thought it was fluke but after talking to people on IRC #ubuntu+1 it seems I should have had a progress bar, I have never had a progress-bar my only indication is the flickering of the HDD LED.
