Bug Description

Binary package hint: cupsys

When I print a page with the colored cartridge, it doesn't print properly (see attached image)

I have set the cartridge type to color 4-ink and 6-ink. My cartridge is, however, 3 ink.

According to openprinting.org (http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-Z12):
Boer Attila (boera at unitbv dot ro) found out that this printer prints when one tweakes the "lxm3200" driver somewhat. His changes are in the "lxm3200-tweaked" driver now, but they are tested only for printing with the black cartridge.

So I would not expect color output to be correct unless you can do some further tests and tweaks of the lxm3200 driver.
This driver has been developed by reverse engineering and testing without cooperation of Lexmark.
Lexmark does not provide Linux drivers for the Z12.

Thanks.

Using this driver that I'm using now, printing works fine with black and white cartridges.

If the steps aren't too complicated, I can gladly help in testing support for color output. Just tell me what I have to do ;)

It's indeed a pity that Lexmark doesn't provide the drivers for linux. Against that, we could have a list of brands/printers whose manufactuers decided to support linux. That printer is getting old, and maybe in some years I may want to change it , but I have no idea on how to buy a hardware that has official linux drivers.
