Bug Description
Using Xubunu 12.04
I encountered this program after a fresh install. I first did a software update and then attempted to install the ATI proprietary driver. This problem only occurs with the "post-release updates" driver. The non post-release updates FGLRX driver installs fine. In fact, the "post-release updates" one appears to install the AMD Catalyst Control Center as well as the fglrx module but for whatever reason Jockey throws an error every time.
I have reproduced this problem several times by running a
sudo apt-get purge fglrx-updates
Then rebooting and attempting to reinstall using Jockey. I've also attempted to go from the regular FGLRX driver to FGLRX (post-release updates) using Jockey with the same results.
WORKAROUND: Don't use the post-release updates. Use the regular FGLRX driver. The version number is the exact same.
I have attached my jockey.log file from the first time I encountered this problem.
