Bug Description
I'm running Ubuntu 12.4 64Bit. `melt` was installed by `sudo apt-get install melt`.
When running melt from commandline it always crashes.

Here's a fix: Set environment variable ``LD_BIND_NOW=1``.
Or get a new version of melt, this is fixed since commit ``ffee022601167
