qBittorrent ignores added torrents (that work in Transmission)

Bug Description

I am trying to add torrents (as it happens from an RSS feed, but others do this, too), and QBt ignores them. If I set the option "Display torrent content and some options", then I get the summary and it looks correct, but nothing gets added to any lists. Even the tags get created. I think as a consequence of this issue, the RSS tab behaves rather weirdly.

I will try to attach two sample torrent files, both of which work in Transmission, so I am assuming they are "valid".

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome 3.6 and QBt v2.9.7 from the repo.

Thanks, The Captn

If you add this torrent manually (not from RSS), does it work?
I have just tried here and it works for me.

Yes, That's why I reported it - tried to add manually and it did not appear. I wonder why it would do that? I might try to reinstall...

I'm trying with a more recent version of qBittorrent and libtorrent than you, so it might be that this was fixed already. I suggest using our Ubuntu PPA to get more up-to-date versions and a more stable experience:

Where does qBt keep the list of torrents? I have looked at the open file list and can't find it. I uninstalled and reintalled - still no good. But the one torrent I had managed to add previously was there again. I would now like to reset that file...

OK, it's still not working.

I cleared out ~/.config/qBittorrent, installed 2.9.9 from PPA. Note ~/.local/share/data/qBittorrent/BT_backup does not exist. I had set the incomplete torrents location previously to something else. Note that it has still picked up this setting, even though I cleared out the config directory. This tells me I am missing something.

So, running 2.9.9 with a clean config, I still cannot add a torrent.

OK, I get the same behaviour with the latest release under Windows, too. In RSS, I subscribe to http://feeds2.feedburner.com/TheLinuxActionShow. It brings up the episode list. Double clicking on an entry makes it unread, but does not add it to the torrent download list, or anywhere else. Trying the RSS Downloader (after deleting and re-adding the subscription) also does not work.

After that, clicking on entries down the list just makes them disappear. Also, QBittorrent crashed on Windows in this mode.
